Brainwave Controllers

SH found these whilst having an amble through the recesses of the internet the other day.

I reckon they could step beyond Kinect and Wii by making the brain the controller rather than the body.

More importantly they are also being developed so that paralysed patients are able to control sensors, computers and the like without having to commit to complex surgery inside the skull.

Now there is a realistic possibility of the technology becoming more commonplace allowing people with reduced mobility and those with muscular conditions to improve their quality of life.

Film of the week: Bullitt

Starring Steve Mcqueen this is the story of the arch hardened cop. The film is an intense action film with gun fights, probably the best car chase ever commited to film and the breath-taking backdrop of San Fransisco to boot.

Aeroplane Concepts

The following are a number of aeroplane concepts developed by companies such as Eads, Aerion and Airbus. These concepts could be the future of long distance travelling - though will they match the luxury of Concord?

Old Skool Games Meet Nu Skool Games

Think of a computer game where the main playthings are boxes, and platforms, a game were you can jump into a hole and magically reappear at another part of the level almost instentaneously. Think you know what game i'm talking about, eh? That's right, 1985s Super Mario Bros!

What? You weren't thinking of Super Mario Bros? You were thinking of Portal? Well yeah, that's a good game too but it doesn't have a fat hairy italian in it though, but it does have a really cool gun. *sigh* if only there was some way we could combine the two...

Underworld Awakening

This could be absolutely amazing, on the other hand, number 4, have we gone too far? Either way this film promises a few of the old favorites with the now compulsory uber baddie at the end. For a start i was so happy to hear about this film being on the way, after watching the trailer I've gotta say I'm slightly underwhelmed; and for that matter having resident evil flash backs. Also why does the poster have "In 3D" written on it, surely that's just an expensive movie going assumption now. I will leave you all to be the judge of this film beyond that however, Enjoy the trailer

Film of the Week: Hard Candy (2005)

With performances from Patrick Wilson [Watchmen] and the frankly age defying Ellen Page [Juno & Inception]. This film is not for men whom are feint of heart. It handles some very mature content in a much better way than other films like say for example SAW or any of its evil little spin offs. I don't really thing the trailer guys understood the subtlety's of the film. A fantastic bit of cinema that moves in mysterious ways. Just an excellent way to spend your time if you looking for a good film to watch you could do allot worse, but once again it is not for the feint of heart, if you are so inclined this may push you. Enjoy
